Wildomar is a city of contrasts: quarter-acre tracts near Clinton Keith Road and the 15, horse properties and hillside parcels out Bundy Canyon, and a few long-established rural streets that were here well before the city incorporated. Sunroom California builds sunrooms, insulated patio rooms, patio covers and patio enclosures across all of it, custom made to fit whichever kind of Wildomar home you own.
Wildomar’s Mix of Tract Homes and Rural Parcels
The kind of house you have shapes the kind of room that makes sense.
Newer neighborhoods along the Clinton Keith corridor and around Windsong Valley typically have a family room slider opening onto a concrete patio and a modest backyard. A straight patio room built on that existing slab, or a solid cover that shades it, uses the space efficiently. If your community has an HOA, it may need to approve colors and design.
Rural and semi-rural properties in areas like Bundy Canyon, the larger parcels east of the freeway, and the foothills toward the Santa Rosa Plateau often have more yard, more views and more elevation change. That can mean room for a larger gabled patio room or a sunroom facing the hills, but it can also mean building on a deck or working around grade. Rooms can go on a concrete slab or a sturdy deck, and we inspect the deck first.
Older homes near Palomar Street and the historic center of town may have had earlier patio additions that are ready to be replaced with something better insulated.
Climate Between the Lake and the Plateau
Wildomar sits in the valley between Lake Elsinore and Murrieta, and it gets real inland summers, with hot afternoons that often reach the upper 90s or higher, plus chilly winter mornings. Canyon winds can also move through the area at times. A good outdoor room here needs to handle both ends of the year:
- Dual pane glass to hold temperature in summer and winter
- A solid insulated roof, available in 3″, 4″ and 6″ thicknesses
- Heating and A/C, either tied into the home or as a standalone unit
- Ceiling fans and retractable shades for sun and airflow control
Our glass blocks harmful UV, which helps protect furniture and flooring in rooms that get a lot of afternoon sun.
Every Service Line, Explained
Sunrooms
Glass walls and, in many designs, glass roofs. Styles include curved eave, straight eave, cathedral/studio, conservatory in Victorian and Georgian designs, and gabled garden rooms. Sunrooms are a strong choice if your property has a view of the hills or the plateau you want to take in year-round. Explore the full sunroom and patio room lineup.
Insulated patio rooms
Fully insulated walls and roof, with windows and doors set into the walls. Gabled roof patio rooms suit larger rural homes with pitched roofs, while straight patio rooms fit neatly under the eave of a single-story tract house. These are the rooms Wildomar owners use most as offices, guest spaces and family rooms.
Patio covers
Aluminum wood covers in lattice, solid and glass roof styles, plus solid insulated covers. They won’t crack, peel, warp or rot and never need painting. Installation takes 1 to 2 days.
Patio enclosures
Any cover can be enclosed later with glass or insulated wall systems, and existing covers can often be enclosed as well, giving you a room without starting from scratch.
Options That Make a Wildomar Room Livable
The structure is only part of the decision. The options you choose determine how often you actually use the room.
Windows and doors. Sliding windows let you open the room on mild spring evenings and close it up when the canyon wind picks up. Door placement matters on rural lots where you may want direct access to the yard, the garden or the barn. See our windows and doors page for the choices.
Climate control. On a hot August afternoon in Wildomar, a room without cooling will be hard to use. Tying into your home’s HVAC keeps everything on one thermostat, while a standalone unit lets you run the room independently. Heating makes the same room useful on cold mornings from December through February.
Lighting, fans and power. Outlets with hidden wiring mean no extension cords running across the floor for a TV, laptop or space heater. Ceiling fans and recessed lighting turn the room into an evening space as well as a daytime one.
Skylights and shades. In an insulated patio room, a skylight or two brings in natural light without turning the room into a greenhouse. In a sunroom, retractable shades give you control over the afternoon sun.
We go through each of these during the estimate, so the finished room matches how your household plans to use it rather than a one-size-fits-all package.
The Wildomar Project Timeline
Most of the waiting in a traditional addition happens on site. With a factory-built room, it happens at the factory instead.
- Estimate: a free, no-obligation visit to your home, any day of the week.
- Design: style, glass, roof thickness, doors, and options like lighting, outlets with hidden wiring, skylights and HVAC. Details are on our product features page.
- Permits: a permit may be required by the city’s building department, and your HOA may need to sign off. We cover this at the estimate.
- Factory build: your room is made to order in California.
- Installation: about 3 to 5 days once materials arrive, compared with 6 to 9 months for a conventional addition.
In practice, that means the part of the project that disrupts your household is short. The crew arrives with the panels, framing, glass and roof already made to your measurements, sets the room on the prepared slab or deck, and finishes the electrical and trim work. For families on a busy schedule, or for rural owners who don’t want equipment parked in the pasture for weeks, that difference is a big part of the appeal.
Patio covers are faster still. Most go up in 1 to 2 days, and if you order a solid insulated cover with fans and lighting, it is ready to use the evening the crew leaves.
Matching the Option to How You Live
A quick way to decide:
- Want an extra room the family can use in August and January? An insulated patio room with HVAC.
- Want light, plants and a view of the hills? A sunroom with dual pane glass and shades.
- Just need shade over the patio or a spot for the grill? An aluminum wood patio cover.
- Not sure yet? A solid insulated cover that can be enclosed later.
